Blackberry vinegar is produced by alcoholic and acetic acid fermentation of the juice obtained by pressing the blackberries. The ancient peoples called blackberry juice “titan blood” and used it to strengthen the nerves, against diarrhea and to treat colds. In Bulgarian folk medicine, berry fruit is used to treat cold, flu, fever, upper respiratory tract inflammation. The blackberries fruits act anti-inflammatory for infections in the mouth and gums (aphthy, angina, stomatitis), herpes, soothe the nerves.
Blackberries contain vitamins C, E and group B, as well as organic acids, large amounts of potassium, calcium, iron. Modern medicine complements the list of healing properties of blackberry in high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, sclerosis, diabetes, inflammatory processes in the joints, impaired metabolism, strengthening of bones and teeth in children, anemia and weak blood vessels.
